Carson Library and Caboose
Title
Carson Library and Caboose
Description
The Carson Depot Caboose project began in 2002 when a longtime Dinwiddie resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, generously donated the caboose to the library system for the Carson property. Originally commissioned in 1914, the Norfolk and Western train caboose was carefully relocated by workers from H.A. Phillingane and Son, who dedicated three days and four cranes to moving it from Dinwiddie to its new home next to the former train depot now library in Carson, VA. John Clements would proceed to pay for the caboose restoration.
